New Member Joins Poteau School Board

The Poteau Board of Education added Jody Thompson as its newest member during its meeting on Monday.

The school board interviewed Thompson in executive session, and then voted to make him a member during the meeting. He fills seat No. 5, which was vacated when Troy George resigned, as was made official on Aug. 1. 

Also, during the meeting, Vallerie Martin was hired as the new chief financial officer, replacing Shannon Barnes.
