Thespian Troupe #3283

The International Thespian Society is an international honor society for high school students dedicated to improving theatre at their school and community while becoming skilled theatre people.  Membership is exclusive, requiring a certain number of hours and participation in at least two productions at the school before becoming a member.  Individuals are welcome to pledge or show an intent to join and participate in our meetings, attend activities, help with productions, etc.  To join, please see Mrs. Peck-Weisenfels or the Pledge Chair, Mr. Kennedy Thomas.

Pirate Players Theatre Company

PPTC is our production company at PHS which puts on four shows a year.  Everyone involved handles every aspect of the show from the design of the costumes/sets/lights/sound to the acting and directing.  We are run by a board of directors which includes the faculty members who direct the shows and the student representatives of each class.

DEBATE/FORENSICS

Our competitive acting/speaking team at PHS is operated through our 7th hour Speech/Drama class.  Members of the team compete at a variety of tournaments in a variety events like Cross Ex. Debate, LD Debate, Original Oratory, Standard Oratory, Solo/Duo Interp, Poetry, Prose, and Monologue.  For more information on joining the team, visit Mrs. Peck-Weisenfels in room 106.

 

Mock Trial

The Mock Trial team at PHS competes in actual courtrooms to play out a mock trial.  Students perform roles such as bailiff, attorney, and witness, trying a case created by the OK Bar Association.  For more information on the team or how to join, visit Mrs. Peck-Weisenfels in room 106.
